Security applications are those programs intended to keep other's eyes off of your files. Whether you just don't want someone looking at private documents on your computer, or you want to be able to trade things privately through e-mail, there's some program with what you want. These programs, by nature, are complex, and caution is suggested. At the least, read the readme files. Due to strict US Export regulations, TUCOWS is unable to publish software that uses strong encryption technology. Several of the files here are "front-ends" for use with PGP, or "Pretty Good Privacy". Freeware PGP is not only one of the most secure forms of encryption available, but also special in several other ways. Its most unique feature is that PGP allows you to encrypt a file to a person's publicly known "public key" yet only they are able to decrypt the file, thus eliminating the need to securely trade passwords. Until recently, TUCOWS was unable to put PGP on-line due to export restrictions, however, a new International Version is listed below. We also put up links to the primary distribution sites for PGP... Pick one of the two below: In US or Canada: MIT Distribution Site for PGP Outside the US or Canada: International PGP Home Page
