ICQ 2000b Beta v4.65 Build 3281
License: Rating: Size: Date:
Adware   rating   5.1MB April 9th, 2001
Description:
ICQ is a chat messaging program made absolutely for the end user. ICQ 2000 has all the great features that ICQ 99 had, such as voice, message board, data conferencing and Internet games; but ICQ 2000 will also get your entire message across in real-time.

Features:

  • The program supports a variety of popular Internet applications and serves as a Universal Platform from which you can launch any peer-to-peer application (Microsoft NetMeeting or Netscape CoolTalk).
  • It can be used in multiple-user mode, allowing groups to conduct conferences, or just "hang out" online.
  • It runs from the system tray, taking up minimal memory and 'Net resources while you work in other applications.
  • The program alerts you when friends and associates log into the ICQ database.
  • 2000b offers tons of options to your message content including PC-to-PC talk and pull down menus for e-mail messages.
  • It includes ICQ Phone, which lets you make phone calls to another ICQ member according to their information.
  • The program integrates with Microsoft Outlook to import e-mail, send attachments, and much more.

How does it work? That's the best part!

When you install ICQ, the program asks you to register at a server, which is connected to a broad network of servers spanning the Internet. At the time of registration, you receive a unique ICQ number, also known as a UIN (Universal Internet Number). It gives you the option of entering personal information along with your UIN, allowing other ICQ users to recognize you when you log on.

Once you've registered, you can compile a selected list of friends and associates. ICQ uses the list to find your friends for you.

If this is your first time using ICQ, it certainly won't be the last!

Find out what all your friends, family and clients are fussing about and download your copy now!

Note: ICQ is adware and will install, without option not to, an AOL icon on your desktop.
